We offer in-office appointments in-person at our Clinic located in Downtown Chattanooga, TN.

We also offer Virtual Online appointments to patients located within any of the states where Dr. Toombs-Withers is licensed.

Dr. Toombs-Withers is a Board Certified Physician in the fields of Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She is also a Certified Menopause Specialist through The Menopause Society (formerly NAMS).

Within our Hormone Health Service we treat a variety of hormone related concerns including perimenopause, menopause, sexual health, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), vaginal infections, Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM), Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD), libido concerns, vulvodynia, recurrent urinary tract infections, hormonally related weight challenges, hormonally related skin and hair conditions.

Prescriptions are provided in accordance with what is most appropriate and safe for your condition and based upon your medical history.

We prescribe FDA approved hormone replacement therapy (HRT) options as well as other FDA approved non-hormonal options for treatment.

With our holistic approach to care, we also often prescribe supplement and other non-medication treatments that can be beneficial to your hormone health.

Essence of Health does not bill your insurance company for our services. We see our patients (not the insurance company) as the priority and opting out of insurance coverage allows us to provide a higher quality of care to our patients. This also allows us to provide care to our patients regardless of the type of insurance they have including patients with Private Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.

Dr. Toombs-Withers will provide you with a Superbill to present to your insurance company for reimbursement of out-of-network expenses, upon request. You can also use your HSA/FSA account for coverage of your care at Essence of Health.

Lab Testing and Imaging (if needed), may be ordered and billed to your insurance plan. Cash-based pricing on lab testing is also available at a discounted rate.

- New Patient Appointments are $350.

These are 60 minute appointments with Dr. Toombs-Withers. This fee also includes your Hormone Health Panel of Labs which includes evaluation of 26 Biomarkers important for a comprehensive evaluation of your body’s hormone status.

- Ongoing Monthly Membership is $135 per month.

This fee is applied 30 days after your initial appointment and includes quarterly video or office appointments (every 3 months) with Dr. Toombs-Withers, and direct access via text message or direct email to Dr. Toombs-Withers for ongoing concerns or questions in between appointments. It’s like having your personal Hormone Health Specialist right at your fingertips!

- Follow-Up Appointments are $99.

These are additional 30 minute appointments with Dr. Toombs-Withers, beyond the four appointments that are included in your Membership.

- Extended Time Appointments are available for both New and Existing Patients at a rate of $75 for each additional 15 minutes beyond your initial appointment time.

- All fees include a Menopause Specialist Physician Evaluation, our Hormone Health App and Resources, and Enrollment into our Private Online Empowerment Discussion Group.

*There is no charge for Patients who are enrolled in our Lifestyle Medicine Membership Program.

- New Patient Appointments are 60 minutes in length.

Prior to your appointment, you will receive a detailed online health questionnaire so that we can obtain your pertinent health information, your hormonal health concerns, and your goals for your appointment.

If you have had any labs or imaging studies performed already, you will be given an opportunity to upload these reports in advance for Dr. Toombs-Withers to review.

At the time of your appointment, Dr. Toombs-Withers will discuss your concerns with you in detail and develop a plan with you that will typically include medication management (if appropriate), lifestyle recommendations including personalized nutritional guidance, and other supplemental resources to get you on the path to feeling your best. You will also receive orders to schedule your lab appointment for your Hormone Health Lab Panel.

- Existing Patient Follow-Up Appointments are 30 minutes in length.

Prior to your follow up appointment, you will receive a shorter version of our health questionnaire so that you can update Dr. Toombs-Withers to how you're feeling now. She will then discuss any new findings and new recommendations with you, and refill or adjust your medications (if appropriate).

To optimize your virtual online care, a home blood pressure cuff and home scale is recommended.

We also recommend that you have your current medications or your medication list nearby on-hand to review at the time of your appointment.

Dr. Toombs-Withers will not serve as your Primary Care Physician (PCP) within this Specialty service.

For acute and urgent concerns, you will need to seek care with your local Doctor or Urgent Care/Emergency Room Facility.

For Patients receiving Virtual Care Online only, Dr. Toombs-Withers cannot do physicals, pelvic exams, pap smears, nor any other physical procedures.

In-office procedures are offered to those receiving care at our clinic location in-person. Arrangements will need to be discussed prior to your appointment as additional fees may apply.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can do so using the link provided in your appointment confirmation email.

- Reschedule: If your appointment is rescheduled more than 48 hours before the appointment, there is no charge. If your appointment is rescheduled within 48 hours of your appointment time, a $25 rebooking fee may be applied.

- Cancellation: If your appointment is cancelled more than 48 hours before the appointment, there is no charge and you will receive a full refund. If your appointment is cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment time, 50% of your appointment fee will be refunded.
